The Expediter

A talented but deeply flawed architect wins a competition for affordable housing in Downtown LA only to see the project compromised beyond recognition by a nemesis from college, now a slick developer. That is, until an attractive and mysteriously-helpful Expediter suddenly enters his life. Simultaneously Film Noir and architectural procedural, The Expediter also explores the role that entrenched privilege plays in the making of cities.

This excerpt was published in 2017 in “MADE UP: Design’s Fictions,” edited by Tim Durfee and Mimi Zeiger and published by ArtCenter Graduate Press and Actar.
